Dulane Casto

Workforce Development Coordinator: Head Counselor

I have been a Registered Nurse for 26 years, during this time I have had experience in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and community nursing.  I found my niche in nursing years ago to be nursing education. This has allowed me to center my energy on providing the possible educational experience; especially training and cultivating new nursing assistants. I have had the delight to watch the high school graduate and the adult learner grow into compassionate, caring, and skillful patient-centered caregivers. Now, I have new goals to assist those with a desire to work in the hospital chose their career path from these areas: Surgical, Laboratory, Registration, Pharmacy, Information Technology, or Nursing.

KATHY STRUM

Chief Nursing Officer

I am a part of the Leadership team here at Davis Medical Center and have been gifted to work with such caring leadership that serves all caregivers, patients, families, and the community.  My personal value is to grow nurse leaders and give them the tools and resources needed to lead and be successful.  I miss being a frontline nurse but at the same time, I get fulfillment in observing the nurses throughout the organization caring for others.

KAREN HARGRAVE

Patient Access Manager

It all starts with the concierge desk, no matter where you go in the hospital for service. We at registration wear many hats, from scheduling across all departments of Davis Health System. It can be challenging but rewarding. Registration wants patients to receive excellent hospitality and have a pleasant experience while visiting our facilities, we want to make a difference. The best part of the job is the thank you,  you receive for a job well done by our patients and staff.

PATRICK J. BOSLEY (JASON)

Director of Pharmacy Services

I enjoy managing Davis Health System's pharmacies because we have a direct impact on patient outcomes and their wellbeing.  It is rewarding to see a patient’s condition improve because of the services we have provided during their hospitalization. I also enjoy the community aspect; the level of gratitude you see from previous patients is very satisfying.

CARLA JOHNSTON

System Director Laboratory and Therapy Services

There are so many career opportunities and paths you can take in the field of Laboratory Medicine.

I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, but it wasn’t until my freshman year when I read the description for Medical Laboratory Science that I realized this was my calling.  If you are science-minded, this field is for you too.

Why patient care?  Our phlebotomists are the face of the Laboratory!  They represent the Lab in all patient interactions and truly love helping people.  They are absolutely essential to every patient’s healthcare experience.
